Directions
Step 1
Prepare the Cheese
Remove Holla white cheese from refrigerator 15-20 minutes before serving to bring to room temperature for optimal flavor. If using Krishka, slice into thick pieces. If using Le Fette or Schmand, portion into small serving bowls or spread directly on the platter. You can also cube the cheese for easy eating.
Step 2
Prepare Fresh Vegetables
Wash and slice tomatoes and cucumbers into rounds or half-moons. Arrange them on a large serving platter or individual plates in an attractive pattern. The vibrant colors of fresh vegetables make the presentation beautiful and appetizing.
Step 3
Assemble the Platter
Arrange the white cheese alongside the fresh vegetables on your platter. Add olives in a small bowl or scattered across the platter. Wash and pat dry fresh herbs, then arrange them in small bunches or sprinkle leaves over the platter. Tear or slice bread and add to the platter or serve in a separate basket.
Step 4
Add Finishing Touches
Drizzle high-quality extra virgin olive oil over the cheese and vegetables. If desired, drizzle a small amount of honey over the Schmand for a sweet-savory contrast that's traditional in many Mediterranean cultures. Sprinkle with a pinch of sea salt and freshly cracked black pepper.
Step 5
Serve and Enjoy
Present the platter at the table family-style, allowing everyone to build their own perfect bite. Encourage guests to spread cheese on bread, top with vegetables and herbs, and enjoy the fresh, simple flavors. This breakfast is meant to be leisurely and communal—perfect with hot tea or Turkish coffee.
